James River, Bremo to Columbia 6-2-13

We've been wanting to do this paddle since last fall, but we've put it off because, frankly, we were afraid how long 11 miles would take us and were concerned about getting caught on the water after dark.

This was a very quiet stretch with almost no riffles, but the water moved fast enough that we were done in about 4 hours.

We were really surprised to find these guys in the river, but hey, it was hot that day.










We saw another river otter and all in all, had a very pleasant day.
